How we list businesses
Where listings come from
We start from public business information: name, address, phone number, website and business category. Then we read each business's own website for the facts we show, such as what it offers, the prices it publishes, whether it delivers and whether it takes bookings online. Every price shows the date we read it and a link to the page it came from.
Who gets listed
A business is listed when it clearly offers what this directory covers and has a phone number or website. National chain locations are listed and marked as chain locations.
We exclude RV and camper rentals, and we leave out moving-truck chains whose trailers are priced and booked through a national system. If a business only sells trailers and does not rent them, it is not listed.
How listings are ordered
On city pages, businesses that paid for placement come first and are labeled Ad. After that, independent businesses come before chain locations, businesses that publish their prices come next, and the rest are listed alphabetically. Reviews and star ratings do not affect order, because we do not collect or republish them.
Keeping it current
We re-read business websites about every 30 days. If something is wrong, use Report a correction on any listing and we will fix it, usually within one business day. Businesses can ask us to remove their listing at any time.
